SL Online Parent Meeting

Instead of having a Parent Meeting before camp, we are providing all of the necessary information and forms for parents of our campers through this page. By carefully reading the following 10 items and the linked documents, you will be equipped to send your student off on an incredible week of Student Life Camp!

I. Camp Participants: We have 70 spots for students & chaperones going to camp. We’ll take the church bus & vans to Cleveland, TN. We will reduce the number of spots on January 31 depending on the number of students we have signed-up at that time.

II. Mission Projects: On Tuesday-Thursday, our group will have teams serving at five to six different mission sites. In each of these locations, we’ll have wonderful opportunities to share the love & Gospel of Christ in various, tangible ways. Pray that we will work well together and faithfully serve Jesus as we participate in these projects.

III. Camp balances.  If you haven’t already done so, please be sure to submit your final camp payment to the church by Sunday, June 5. The total cost for campers is $350. If you don’t know your balance, contact Tony.

IV. Departure/Return. A schedule of the week is found in this "Parent Pack" . We’ll leave at 7:30 AM on Monday, June 12, so be here no later than 7:00 AM to load up. We should return around 6:00 PM on Friday, June 16. Parents may call or text Tony to see if we’re on schedule. Tony's cell number is 228-731-6247.

V. What to bring (also found in the above 'Parent Pack"). Please bring no more than 2 bags to be packed and 1 carry-on. The carry-on should contain your Bible/pen to do the first day’s Quiet Time on the bus. Other items to bring that aren’t on the list: snacks, umbrella, & camera.

Further on “What not to bring”: 1) Members of our group will NOT wear: spaghetti strap tops, tight tank tops, two-piece swimsuits, baggy pants that hang down, or “short shorts”. Our adults will ask you to change clothes if we feel you are not dressed appropriately. 2) Cell phones and other technological devices can be brought, but can only be used on the bus ride to and from camp or during your afternoon free time. At all other times, these devices WILL remain out of sight. If you bring such a device, you’re doing so with the condition that an adult may collect and hold that device if it is being used at inappropriate times.

Note: Our group will be part of the “Yellow SHOCK” squad at camp, so be sure to bring any yellow clothes & items that you have so that you can show spirit and support your squad.

VI. Spending Money.  Each camper’s spending money should include funds for 3 fast-food meals and for any shirts, cd’s, snacks, etc. that may be purchased at camp.

VII. Emergency Contact Information:  Always call Tony’s cell phone as your first option. If you can’t get one of us and it is an emergency, call Student Life (888- 811-9934) and they will run us down.

VIII. Release Forms: Each student and adult participant must complete and submit two different release forms for camp: The Student Life Participant Form must be completed online and it can be accessed by  this Student Life specific "Participant Form" link . (You will need to click on Participate Forms (All Other Locations). You will need the Reg ID #: (TBA) and “Camp Location/Date”, which is “Lee University/Cleveland, TN" June 12-16) and this “Medical Release” form for our church.  The FBC "Medical" Release form must be notarized. We recommend that a copy of your health insurance card be stapled to the First Baptist form.

IX. Parents:  Do not forget about the "Parent Pack".
