Membership

We take membership seriously at FBC Eastman and ask that all prospective members
take time to learn more about what we believe and attend our Discovery Class.

What is Church Membership?

Church membership is a biblical privilege and responsibility. In 1 Corinthians 12:12, the Bible says “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.”

It is obvious from the New Testament that individual believers identified with God’s people, the church, and expressed their faith together as members of the body of Christ. Acts 2:37-47 records how the requirements for membership were salvation (regeneration by the Holy Spirit) and baptism as a confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

How Do I Join FBC Eastman?

Believers in Jesus Christ may become members of Eastman First Baptist Church by one of the following ways:
  • A clear testimony of salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and confession of faith in the Lord through baptism by immersion after one’s salvation.
  • By promise of letter confirming membership in a church of like faith and practice.
  • By statement of previous conversion to faith in Christ, biblical baptism and former church membership in a church of like faith and practice.
