"…and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful people, who will be able to teach others also." 2 Timothy 2:2 | ESV
What Is The Timothy Strategy?
The Timothy Strategy is a one-year lay leadership development cohort at First Baptist Eastman, built around the simple but profound command of 2 Timothy 2:2. It is not a class - it is a calling. We are looking for faithful people who sense a stirring toward greater gospel usefulness and are ready to be equipped, challenged, and sent.
Each cohort is intentionally small - 8 to 12 participants - and shaped by deep mentorship, rigorous biblical training, and hands-on ministry experience. The goal is not merely to produce knowledgeable Christians, but to multiply reproducing disciples who will, in turn, entrust the truth to others.
Four Core Pillars
How the Year Is Structured
The Timothy Strategy runs on a full 52-week track, September through September. Participants engage in personal study and assignments between sessions from home. Each track cohort meets together one to two times per month, and once a month all cohorts come together for a full combined gathering.
Who Should Apply?
- People who are members in good standing at First Baptist Eastman
- People who sense a call toward greater gospel usefulness and leadership
- People with a pattern of faithfulness in the Word, in prayer, and in the local church
- People willing to commit to the full year - gatherings, mentorship, and ministry assignments
"The things you have heard from me… entrust to faithful people."
